Community Relief Day Care services is a branch of Botswana Retired Nurses Society which was formed in 2003.It was established following a needs assessment which found out that Home Based Care was mostly needed because of the severity of the HIV/AIDS epidemic then. The Centre ran a day care for Adults until 2012 when infected clients responded well to ART. Care and support continue to both infected and affected.
The Centre operates an orphan and vulnerable children Day Care which was established in 2006.A grandmothers support group was formed in 2008 being care takers of orphans and vulnerable children. It also has a community library which was established in 2016.To substitute for its sustainability, the Centre provides wellness services to industries, private and Government Institutions focusing on Non Communicable Diseases.
As a Community Based Organisation, BORNUS draws its expertise in service from a pool of experienced nurses, social workers and other professionals who are an integral part of the community where they work. They therefore understand sensitive and health issues in the community and are able to design interventions that are appropriate but also culturally acceptable.
We provide preventative healthcare, skills and knowledge transfer to bestow hope and social well being upon our community.
A preferred partner in promoting healthcare services and the community's well-being.
